Before I give you 5 steps to getting the GED diploma, let me clearly state what the GED diploma is.
Students get a GED diploma if they pass 4 GED subject tests. These tests include Social Studies, Science, Language Arts, and Math. The passing score is 145 out of 200 points on each GED subject.
If a student gets a score of 145 or higher on every GED subject, GED Testing Service (the official organization behind the GED test) notifies the state where the student lives, and the state issues a High School Equivalency Diploma.
This diploma has the same value as a High School diploma, and students can apply to college and get better jobs.
Now that you know what the GED diploma is, let’s take a look at the 5 steps to getting this diploma.
1. Get a GED Prep Course

When you are satisfied with your GED Ready score, sign up for the GED test. You schedule the test on the GED.com website. There are 2 versions available: the online test and the in-person test that you take in a GED testing center. GED Testing Service (GED.c0m) is the sole provider of the GED test.
Usually, students take one GED subject at a time. The results are available on the same day. Repeat this process for the next GED subjects. You pass the GED test when you get at least 145 points on each of the 4 subject tests.
5. Get your GED diploma
