Term & Conditions

Welcome to Onsego. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Onsego website, online courses, educational materials, tools, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. About the Service

Onsego provides online educational resources, including preparation courses and study materials for the GED® test.

We may add, modify, improve, or discontinue features of the Service from time to time.

The Service requires internet access and a compatible device. You are responsible for your internet connection, equipment, and any fees charged by your internet or mobile service provider.

2. Account Registration

To use certain parts of the Service, you may be required to create an account.

You agree to provide accurate and current information when creating and maintaining your account.

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity that occurs through your account.

If we reasonably believe that information associated with an account is inaccurate, fraudulent, or being used in violation of these Terms, we may suspend or terminate access to the account.

3. Individual Account Access

Unless your plan specifically allows multiple users, an Onsego account is for one individual student.

Your login credentials may not be shared with another person.

We may suspend or restrict an account if we reasonably believe that login credentials are being shared or that the account is being used by multiple people without authorization.

4. Subscription Period

Access to the Service is provided for the subscription period shown at the time of purchase and in your payment confirmation.

When your subscription expires, access to paid course materials ends unless you renew your subscription.

5. Payments

You agree to pay the price displayed at the time of purchase.

Payment is generally required before access to paid services is provided.

Fees are non-transferable and are refundable only as described in our refund and money-back guarantee policy below or as otherwise required by applicable law.

6. Refunds and Money-Back Guarantee

Onsego offers a 7-day money-back guarantee for GED prep courses.

If you cancel your subscription within 7 days of opening your Onsego account, you may request a refund of your subscription fee.

If you complete more than 40% of one or more subject prep courses during this period, Onsego reserves the right to deduct the applicable individual course price ($49) from the refund.

To request a refund, provide your full name and the email address associated with your Onsego account through our Refund Request Page.

Any additional refund terms presented at the time of purchase will also apply.

7. Expired Accounts

When your paid membership expires, you will no longer have access to your courses.

Account data may remain available for 30 days following expiration. If you renew during this period, access may be restored after successful payment.

If you do not renew within 30 days, your account and associated account data may be deleted. Deleted account data may not be recoverable.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service and its content, including courses, lessons, videos, questions, explanations, graphics, software, designs, and other educational materials, are owned by or licensed to Onsego and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Purchasing or accessing the Service gives you a limited right to use the materials for your own personal educational purposes. It does not transfer ownership of the materials or intellectual property rights to you.

Unless expressly authorized by Onsego, you may not reproduce, copy, record, distribute, sell, resell, publish, modify, create derivative works from, or commercially exploit Onsego content.

9. Prohibited Uses

You may not:

Share your account with unauthorized users;
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or another user’s account;
Copy, scrape, download, record, reproduce, or distribute course materials except where Onsego expressly permits it;
Interfere with the security or operation of the Service;
Use automated systems to access the Service in a manner that places an unreasonable burden on our systems;
Misrepresent your relationship with Onsego; or
Use the Service for unlawful purposes.

We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably determine that the Service is being used in violation of these Terms.

10. SMS Customer Support

Onsego may offer students the option to receive customer support communications by SMS.

SMS messages are optional. You will receive an initial SMS from Onsego only when you provide your mobile phone number and expressly opt in to receive a text regarding your support request.

Onsego sends only one initial SMS related to the support request. If you reply to that message, additional messages may be exchanged as part of the support conversation.

Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile service plan.

You can reply STOP at any time to opt out of further SMS communications. Reply HELP for assistance.

SMS consent is not a condition of purchasing or using Onsego’s educational services.

Onsego does not use your customer-support SMS consent to enroll you in promotional or recurring marketing text messages.

For information about how we handle mobile phone numbers and SMS consent information, please review our Privacy Policy.

11. Availability of the Service

We work to keep the Service available and functioning properly, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.

Access may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, technical problems, internet outages, third-party services, security issues, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

12. Educational Services and GED Testing

Onsego provides GED test preparation and educational services. Onsego does not administer the official GED test and does not issue GED credentials.

Use of Onsego does not guarantee that a student will pass the GED test or achieve a particular score. Results depend on many factors, including the student’s preparation, participation, prior knowledge, and test performance.

Official GED testing policies, eligibility requirements, scheduling, pricing, and credentialing are determined by GED Testing Service and applicable state or jurisdictional authorities.

13. Third-Party Services

Certain features of the Service may rely on third-party providers, such as payment processors, communications providers, analytics services, or other technology providers.

Your use of third-party websites or services may also be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

14. Suspension and Termination

Onsego may suspend or terminate access to the Service if we reasonably determine that:

You have materially violated these Terms;
Your account is being used fraudulently or without authorization;
Your use threatens the security or operation of the Service;
Suspension or termination is required by law; or
Continued access could cause harm to Onsego, its users, or third parties.

Where appropriate, we may provide an opportunity to resolve the issue before terminating access.

15. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

The Service and its content are provided for educational purposes.

While Onsego works to provide accurate and useful educational materials, we do not guarantee that all content will always be complete, current, or error-free.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Onsego will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Onsego’s total liability for claims arising from the Service will not exceed the amount you paid Onsego for the Service during the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

16. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold Onsego and its directors, officers, employees, and agents harmless from claims, liabilities, damages, and reasonable expenses arising from your unlawful use of the Service, your material violation of these Terms, or your infringement of another person’s intellectual property rights.

17. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how Onsego collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our Service, business practices, or legal requirements.

Updated Terms will be published on this page. If a change materially affects your rights, we may provide additional notice where appropriate or required by law.

Your continued use of the Service after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.

19. General Terms

If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.

If Onsego does not immediately enforce a provision of these Terms, that does not constitute a waiver of our right to enforce it later.

These Terms do not create third-party beneficiary rights.
